A 12 plus hour drive, lots of naps, potty breaks, and snacks – we finallly arrived in Georgia. The final stretch was treacherous as the road twisted and turned up the mountain with little to no lights illunimating it.
All day I’ve been soaking up time with family (just as I have these last few weeks). Last night I got to snuggle with my cat, Mr. Fuzz, and then cried saying goodbye as I have with all of my “until I see you laters”.
We had a late night wrapping everything up (there’s no surprise). We still have things to do, but at least we are here in GA, in the coziness of a cabin. Tomorrow we take on “trail life”. I honestly haven’t had time to fully register my feelings: excitement, disbelief, nervousness, gratitude, etc. It’s quite a mix. No matter how I feel right now, this roller coaster is loading up and tomorrow it’ll leave the gates.
For now, I’m going to stop writing, finish packing, and go spend time with my mom and sister.
