It’s Sunday and we are actually in town for a zero. I think it’s the first time we legitimately can go to church while on the trail. Before I went to bed last night I did a quick search for a nearby church. The closest I found was five miles away. Dang. Too far to walk. This morning, Warthog found one that was only a mile away. It started at 11a. We were all making breakfast and we wouldn’t have made it in time. I’m hoping it has a night service maybe we could attend.
For breakfast we had two trays of cinnamon roll casserole, a pile of pancakes, a dozen scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, and two pounds of bacon. We didn’t eat all of it… but we did eat much of it.
Then clean up and food coma. Some showered again – only the extremely productive ones of the group showered. I was not productive.
Finally, some decided to hit the outfitters store to pick up supplies. Everyone went, but I stayed back to catch up on journaling and editing. After going to the outfitters, Warthog went to the grocery store for our food resupply. I had a few extra requests than normal. As a result, our food bag is overflowing. We probably have 10-15lbs of food to get us through 4.5 days. It’s a bit absurd. Most of the group accidentally overbought. I would say our eyes are bigger than our stomachs, but I’m pretty sure we’ll be able to polish it all of.
Kirby made dinner for the group; sweet chili chicken, veggies, and rice. It was really good. Then Lotus and Atlas picked up ice cream supplies and made dessert for everyone just in time for our group movie night, we were watching Zoolander!
After the end credits rolled, so did we, each to our own bedrooms. I did a bit more editing and posting and then finally got some rest. Tomorrow we go back on the trail. This time without our friend Hype. Our group of eight down to seven. We will all miss him, but are happy he gets to be reunited with his wife!
